theNotification is an English-language editorial covering Switzerland. We write about technology, politics, finance and cybersecurity, and about the places where they overlap: surveillance law, digital identity, big tech contracts with the federal government, interest rates and what they do to ordinary people, data breaches and who is accountable for them.

We’re independent. We cite our sources, we interview the people who make the decisions, and we say what we think. When we get something wrong, we correct it.

Most Swiss news about these topics is published in German, French or Italian, and much of it is written for insiders. We write in English, in plain language, for anyone who wants to understand what’s happening in this country and why it matters.
